Empowering Future Leaders

It can be difficult to comprehend how homelessness can exist in a wealthy country like Australia, especially for young minds. The Social Justice Hub is an educational platform that builds student engagement and understanding of critical social issues like disadvantage, poverty and homelessness.

Educators can use the pre-designed modules and activities in the classroom to guide and inspire students, saving time and effort with a program that has been co-designed with schools and students. The Social Justice Hub comes with a full suite of teacher resources, including modules, lesson plans and classroom activities.

The Social Justice Hub was built in consultation with students and aims to:

  • Empower future leaders: Cultivate informed and active students who understand the power of their voices.
  • Develop critical thinking skills: Our interactive modules encourage students to analyse, question and form their own well-reasoned arguments.
  • Bridge the gap between learning and action: Equip students with the tools and confidence to be a positive change maker within their communities.

Features of the Social Justice Hub

  • Student tested modules: A suite of engaging topics explores disadvantage and homelessness. Each module provides clear learning objectives, adaptable activities and knowledge quizzes.
  • Flexibility & differentiation: Modules can be used in classroom settings or individually. They can be done in any order. Our resources integrate with existing curricula and adapt to diverse learning styles and grade levels.

Fundraising for Sacred Heart Mission: Making a Difference Together

We are passionate about empowering young minds to become advocates for change. But knowledge and passion are even more powerful when combined with action! We believe that students and educators can play a vital role in supporting those experiencing homelessness and disadvantage.

We offer a variety of resources and support to help schools and students integrate fundraising into their experience with the Social Justice Hub. You can find out more about fundraising here.

Mark your journey of advocacy and change with a fundraising event to help keep the doors of Sacred Heart Mission open! We’ll be with you every step of the way to help you smash your goals. Together we can change the lives of people in our community.

Ready to Get Started?

Contact us today at socialjusticehub@sacredheartmission.org to learn more about how your school can use the Social Justice Hub.

Together, we can create a future where homelessness and disadvantage are no longer a reality for any individual or family.

About Sacred Heart Mission

Sacred Heart Mission has been providing support to some of the most disadvantaged in our community for the last 40 years. Sacred Heart Mission provides a sense of community, a warm meal and support daily to anyone experiencing homelessness and disadvantage or in need of assistance.

Fundraising by schools helps us run essential drop-in services like our Dining Hall, Women’s House and programs that help lift people out of homelessness and poverty.
